Ceriah isn't home to large corporations or prominent chain stores like in the US or other real-world countries. Businesses are owned more directly and it's common for the manager of a large store such as a supermarket to directly know the owner. While it's certainly not unheard of for richer men to open another branch of their store in another location or own more than one business, Ceriah doesn't really have large market chains.
This doesn't mean that there aren't large stores, however, or that they're of average lower quality, simply that the machinations of owning a successful business are more direct and that there's an absence of large chains such as the real-world "Walmart."
