The Public Beaches The less monetarily gifted people visiting Port Lanadia will find the beaches wonderfully warm and swelling with the energy of youth as children dart around between the many towels decorating the sand. These beaches have their fair share of shells and pebbles, of course, but the ocean view is beautiful and you can often see fishing boats bobbing out in the water. Pokemon like Wingulls and Pelippers are common sights and just a small piece of bread tossed into the air is capable of summoning a small flock down around your head. Despite the temptation it might pose to a trainer, there are signs around the beach with the words "Do Not Attempt To Catch The Wild Pokemon."
The Swanna Hotel Though Lanadia has its share of extravagant hotels, none can best The Swanna Hotel in terms of elegance, luxury and price. This hotel is not only the most expensive in the city but easily one of the top hotels in the entire country. Usually only the richest of people vacation at the Swanna Hotel, though a poorer member of society saving up for that one dream vacation isn't unheard of.
The foyer itself is a thing to behold with a high, arching ceiling and two elegant staircases leading upwards. Naturally, there are people around to take care of any luggage you might have and lead you to lushly furnished rooms with gorgeous views. The room service is naturally second to none. The hotel grounds include large pools and many a jacuzzi with employees waiting on your beck and call to retrieve whatever your heart desires so long as you understand that it's being added to your tab.
The hotel's private section of the beach is kept free of debris such as shells and the like, and true to its name the hotel keeps meticulously trained Swanna on the grounds for their aesthetic value. If there's a luxury you can think of, the Swanna Hotel probably has it.
The Boardwalk Carnival An appeal more to the middle class than the upper class is the carnival that is always maintained throughout the warmer seasons. From afar the most noticeable feature of the carnival would be the Ferris wheel. Once you're there you may buy tickets to exchange to play the generic games found at all carnivals or to ride the rides. The one roller coaster has cars made to look like the head and body of a Gyarados and the haunted house ride is full of real Ghost type Pokemon. Children run amok throughout the carnival, riding rides and purchasing overpriced snack from the various booths.
The Grand Maximillian This luxurious cruise liner is named after none other than the gym leader William Aldwin's favorite Pokemon, his beloved Vaporeon. The liner is owned by William and serves as both an endless source of money and the city's gym. The liner generally loiters within sight of the city and challenges to the leader must be arranged in advance. While usually only the rich can afford to get on the ship, challengers are given free high class rooms and the same service anyone else would receive. Challenges against the gym leader are highly publicized and even though prices go up on days a gym battle is scheduled the check-in rate always significantly increases. There's almost always a huge audience to these battles, so challengers will often have to command their Pokemon over the roar of the crowd.
