Name: Adrien Arundale
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Occupation: Trainer
Appearance: If Adrien’s appearance were to be paraphrased into a few words they would likely be noble and angelic; or perhaps spoiled pretty boy depending on who you asked. His feathery blonde hair just barely reaches his bright blue eyes. His flawless skin, gaunt figure and elegant stride seem more fitting in a palace than on city street or a country road. He is approximately 5’11.
His garb generally consists of an elaborate silver and black cloak held together by an almost baroque clasp of gold with a large pearl nested in the center. Should the rare temperature or rarer occasion permit and the cloak be shed, his equally lavish clothing beneath can be seen. His legs are adorned with silver pants embellished by two intricate black patterns mirroring each other, beginning and ending at the cuff of each leg and encircling one another but never meeting. Through the silver loops runs a black belt with an unsurprisingly silver buckle. His upper body he oft dons in a silver dress shirt covered by a black vest with of course, silver buttons. Many have asked him how he keeps his clothing in such pristine condition especially considering the perils of his occupation. In reality he just owns several matching outfits that he has sent to his destinations beforehand- save for the clasp which bears more significant meaning and is switched from cloak to cloak.
Personality: Having led a very sheltered life primarily in his father’s estate up until around a month before his 19th birthday, Adrien is still very naïve about the world around him; Though he has learned a lot in the four months since he departed, he is still thrown off guard very easily. This has led to a number of people making a game out of breaking his composure... not that he’s aware of it. While trying to become more accepting of the customs of others he has still retained most of the mannerisms his father and high society have instilled into him.
As far as his actual personality he is very kind albeit often to a fault. He’s not exactly giving away his last penny, but he’s often unintentionally insulting in his attempts to be charitable. He doesn’t mean to be condescending, but what is a hard working person supposed to think of some kid dressed like a prince who probably hasn’t worked a day in his life pitying them?
Adrien is also very steadfast in his beliefs and will fight against injustices he sees whenever possible. Fortunately one of the things high society has taught him is how to pretend to like people and laugh things off, at least until the situation better suits him. Unfortunately his naivety often overshadows his attempts to be manipulative and he ends up playing the fool himself.
In conversation he is very polite, quick to speak and just generally likable, assuming you can get past his mannerisms and outfit. He is eager to hear what other people have to say and finds the stories of people from the “real world” intriguing.
His current goals are just to explore the world and find a place for himself and maybe someone to share it with, though the thought of such immediately brings a crimson tinge to his cheeks.
History: Adrien was the product of an incredibly successful Milanian businessman and a loving wife. Unfortunately there were complications during child birth and his mother passed away. His father was of course crushed by this, but he stayed strong for the child of his beloved wife. For the next several years Adrien was attended to by caretakers appointed by his father. Meanwhile, his father handed over his enterprise and soon sought a more fulfilling position in politics in a legitimate attempt to help people. The political game quickly took over his life and he seldom had opportunity to share more than a meal with his son.
As Adrien grew up, he lived under the pressure that anything he did could harm his father’s reputation. His dad never said as much, but Adrien had already seen what people get in the papers for. He decided from an early age that politics weren’t for him, but the only other things he had experience in were helping the maids and unapplied academics. Although curious to see the outside world he continued biding his time through his years of home schooling, managing to satiate his wanderlust through exploration of local areas and television (which may or may not of actually had an adverse effect towards his longing).
By the time Adrien had turned nineteen he decided he needed to do something. Adrien braced himself and knocked at his father's door. And yet, where he had expected clashes and clauses there was naught but encouragement. His father's only request was that he write and tell him what he saw. With that he embarked on his journey, leaving his homeland for the first time as he set his eyes on the frontier that was Ceriah.
Adrien was right in his hopes that most people here would not recognize him nor would any journalists seek him out. With this new freedom he spent several weeks exploring but a few of the many towns and cultures of Ceriah. But there were still so many things still out of his grasp and he could feel them calling out to him. The vast peaks of the Saldraes mountains, the endless prairies extending until they meet the blue skies, the beckoning depths of the clear blue sea and many others still awaited him. Leaving but one option: he would set out for Valoran to receive his Pokemon trainer's license.
