Adrien took a moment to take the room in. It would appear that the Seels weren't the most popular pick today. "Where would you like to start?" He asked, turning to the cactus beside him. |

Without so much as taking a moment to blink, it pointed towards the pool. "Cacnea," it stated plainly, expression hard to read. |

"Interesting choice, just don't be too surprised if we end up soaked," Adrien warned with small laugh. And with that he started towards the pool. |

The Cacnea walked purposefully towards the pool, grabbing the Seel's - and the lone Phanpy's - attention with a quick "Cac!"
They looked up, one flopping forward out of the pool and onto its belly to clap its flippers along with some of its still-submerged mates. "Cacnea, cac, cacnea?" it asked questioningly.
There was a pause as a good amount of Seel exchanged looks before suddenly a good five or six of them were gulping up water. Filled cheeks quickly emptied into the air around Adrien and his Cacnea in short bursts that left the Grass-type soaked. |

Adrien watched them fill their cheeks before closing his eyes in resignation. Negotiations seemed to be going well so far. One soaking later, Adrien looked to the Cacnea questioningly and tilted his head. At least his cloak had taken the brunt of the water. |

The Cacnea wasn't looking at Adrien, its eyes narrowed at the chortling and clapping Water-type. Even the Phanpy seemed to be giggling, trunk pressed to its mouth.
"Cacnea, Cacnea," the Cacnea says humorlessly. "Cacnea, Cac, Cac, nea?"
The Seel responsible for the assault merely clap and continue to make merry. One lounging passively near the back, however, raises its voice. "Seel," it says, raising one flipper to point at one of the laughing Water-types and then another, "Seel, Seel." |

"Cacnea," it said again, raising its voice as it tried to address one of the laughing Seel that the other had gestured to. The Seel perked up, cocking its head to the side and drifting backwards playfully as it was spoken to. "Cacnea, Cac, Cacnea? Cacnea, nea."
"Seeel," it said lazily, fanning the water with its flippers.
"Cac, Cacnea?" the Cacnea asked, addressing the other Seel this time. The second Seel glanced around nervously as it was singled out before sticking out its tongue and ducking down so only the top half of it head was poking out of the water. |

"Cacnea." It looked blankly at Adrien, not looking particularly amused by the Seels' antics. "Cac," It said meaningfully, pointing to the same two Seels in succession again. "Cacnea."
The one that had been drifting backwards was lazily drifting around on its back in no particular direction now and the second was still peeking over at them from were it was floating almost entirely submerged. |

It nodded, cutting off a different Seel with a sudden glare as it went to gulp up another mouthful of water. A few of the Seels had lost interest and were playing with the Phanpy again, but most were still watching the pair curiously. |

Adrien turned to the two Seels and knelt down a bit, hands on his knees. Smiling warmly, he spoke. "Hello, my name is Adrien Arundale. I'm sure my companion has already explained much of this to you, but I'd like to extend an offer to travel this nation, and maybe even beyond with me. You're welcome to simply join me and explore or train, evolve and even seek glory in the arenas. I promise that you'll not be made to do anything you don't want to and that I will try my hardest as a trainer. So tell me, are either of you interested?" |

"Cac, Cacnea, Cacnea," added his starter, gesturing widely at Adrien with one clubbed arm. "Cacnea Cacnea, Cac, Cac, Cacnea."
A few of the six Seels still watching him exchanged glances, one or two cocking their heads at the pair. He seemed to have caught the attention of the drifting Seel and the second had poked its head further out of the water, lolling its tongue out at him in an expression that wouldn't seem out of place on a Lillipup.
"Seel," the first said finally, giving a short nod of satisfaction.
The second looked at the first and hesitated for a second before quickly adding its own quick "Seel!" and raising a flipper. |

Adrien frowned for a moment. He assumed that these Pokemon had at least been instructed as to the basic workings of the facility. Looking at the Seels again, he supposed maybe they had. "I apologize, I forgot to mention that I can only bring one of you. Rest assured, there will be many more trainers after me to come here. Do you both still want to go?" |
