Gym Leader William
Anyone who owns a television in Ceriah knows about William Aldwin. If you ask one of his fans about him, the words you're most likely to hear would be charismatic, gentlemanly, or powerful. Of course, he has his detractors but he's a hard man to hate. He's constantly bubbling with energy and yet he somehow retains an air of elegance as he narrates his own gym battles before hundreds of live spectators and tens of thousands at home. His greatest pleasure is the enjoyment of others and he has become famous for his chivalry and generosity. Win or lose, he never does it sorely and is just as happy seeing the crowd cheer for his opponent's comeback as his own. Not that he would ever go easy on an opponent. People who've met him swear he acts just as modest and kind in person as on the television, to even the lowliest of paupers.
William is fifty-eight and sprightly. Standing at six feet tall with a gaunt frame and dressed in his signature black ringmaster jacket, matching pants, shoes, and of course cane and top hat (not the ridiculously tall kind though), he's certainly a memorable figure. He bears short grey-brown hair, a thin mustache and brown eyes.
William's gym is centered upon the deck of his vast cruise liner, the Grand Maximilian. With a maximum capacity of 7,162 passengers, this is a boat of epic proportions. This isn't a difficult number to meet before one of William's famous televised battles. The arena itself, surrounded by high-rise stadium seating, is sunken in for optimal viewing efficiency. A large plexiglass shield exists around the arena to protect the crowd. The arena consists of burn proof imitation wood with a large pool in the middle that is separated on the surface by a six foot bridge of land. The pool continues under the surface and in the underwater corners of the arena are rocks and boulders to be used however the Pokemon see fit.
