(5:50:10 PM) Kyro: You enter a large, open air room. A path runs down the center with pair of benches near the middle. People have already begun to disperse throughout the room as the instructor explains that the promotional starters are in another room just down this hallway.
(6:00:34 PM) Kyro: Most of one corner is occupied by a stony artificial pond with a pump continuously jetting water in the middle. Seven of the eight Seels present are gathered around the pond. The last Seel can be spotted meandering towards a group of Electrike who are lazily focused on the trainers entering the room. Several other Electrike along with a few Phanpys flock towards the people entering the room excitedly. Two Electrike wrestle witch each other while the remaining Phanpys watch from a distance.
(6:03:11 PM) Managrimm: Cory and Richard glance around and exchange a glance with each other before Rich tells him he'll meet him in the other enclosure.
(6:04:00 PM) Managrimm: Rich goes to leave and Cory focuses on the Phanpy's that are flocking to us
(6:05:28 PM) Managrimm: How many aides are here?
(6:06:11 PM) Kyro: Four in this room, probably more in the other
(6:12:04 PM) Kyro: The four Phanpys wander over, happy as can be
(6:15:39 PM) Kyro: A good amount of your group has already started towards the other room, getting a headstart on stealing all the Yanmas presumably

(6:16:31 PM) Kyro: Since he had no stakes at all here, probably

(6:18:50 PM) Kyro: And another half of your group has spread out to meet the Seels and other pokemans leaving 4 of you to entertain the 8 Pokemon
(6:19:21 PM) Kyro: You are probably momentarily distracted by a bit of commotion in the distance
(6:21:29 PM) Kyro: It appears that a lone Seel has taken it upon himself to soak a group of Electrike.
(6:21:35 PM) Kyro: It seems pleased with itself.
(6:21:43 PM) Managrimm: Pfft
(6:22:30 PM) Managrimm: My character glances, chortles a bit, but quickly returns his attention to the Phanps
(6:29:39 PM) Kyro: An Electrike yips up at you excitedly before being barreled aside by a Phanpy who trumpets at you cheerily
(6:30:51 PM) Managrimm: Cory laughs a bit at that, but after this cursory glance is done he turns to look for an available aide
(6:31:20 PM) Kyro: As luck would have it, there is one
(6:31:35 PM) Kyro: The Electrike jumps on the Phanpy as you turn away
(6:32:18 PM) Kyro: Meanwhile the Seel has successfully retreated to the pond as the Electrike growl at it
(6:32:24 PM) Kyro: The room appears to have descended into chaos
(6:32:57 PM) Managrimm: Mm-hmmm. I approach and ask "So... You know if any of these have any egg moves or anything else exciting?"

(6:36:19 PM) Kyro: The aide rubs her temples for a moment, clearly trying to recall something
(6:41:22 PM) Kyro: "A specific breed or all of'm?"
(6:41:41 PM) Managrimm: "Phanpy"
(6:42:04 PM) Kyro: "Well... one of them has Double-Edge and Charm. One has uhhm... Ice Shard. The one following you has Slam. I think that should be it"
(6:42:21 PM) Managrimm: I look back to confirm that it's following me
(6:45:55 PM) Kyro: It looks back at you, trunk swaying in excitement
(6:46:42 PM) Kyro: The Electrike's teeth begin to spark. "Stop that. Bad dog," she tells it.
(6:47:25 PM) Managrimm: I try to get in another word before she gets too distracted. "If the one with Ice Shard isn't taken, can I get that one?"
(6:52:05 PM) Kyro: "Well uhmm... let's go see if we can find it" she tells you as she takes out her Pokedex
(6:52:41 PM) Managrimm: I glance around the room, taking stock of how many Phanpy's are actually in danger of being grabbed

(6:53:14 PM) Kyro: One person is with the group of four across the room
(6:54:00 PM) Kyro: MEANWHILE
(7:20:45 PM) Kyro: A door clearly labeled exit leads Richard to a tentlike structure made of a thin mesh attached to the side of the building. A large flock of Yanmas fly about while some of them dwell near a muddy pond. Inside what appears to be a concrete-reinforced greenhouse, the majority of the Cacnea dwell. Several other Cacnea wander around the grounds, some of them with small groups of Roggenrola marching behind them. A man in a league uniform is leaning against the well near the door with a Swoobat hovering next to him.

(7:22:02 PM) Kyro: There's three other people tending to the facilities
(7:27:11 PM) Managrimm: I notice how many people are on my tail and find myself an aide. "Hey," I say, clearly positive and in very good spirits. "Can I get a Yanma, please -, but not one with Frisk or anything. Preferably one with some spirit..." I trail off, glancing around the room at the available Yanma.
(7:29:28 PM) Kyro: "You'll want to talk to that guy" he tell you, gesturing to Swoobat guy
(7:30:43 PM) Managrimm: I approach The Batman. "Hey!" I say, grinning.
(7:41:30 PM) Kyro: He explains to you that he is the night. Also his parents are dead.
(7:46:00 PM) Kyro: "Hey yourself. Shopping for something specific?" the man asks, still wallbound
(7:47:53 PM) Managrimm: "Yeah, I'm looking for a good Yanma," I say. "One with some fight in it - some spirit! Uh, I'd rather not have Frisk though," I add, scrunching my face a bit.
(7:54:58 PM) Kyro: He scrunches his face for a moment before replying "I've got a pretty spirited one with Whirlwind if you're interested."
(7:55:27 PM) Kyro: By scrunching face I mean like furrow brow type thing
(7:55:39 PM) Managrimm: "I'll take it," I say, grinning.
(8:04:11 PM) Kyro: Addressing the Swoobat he says "Fetch number 7." The Swoobat nods and hovers away towards the center of the room, sniffing deeply
(8:07:18 PM) Managrimm: I watch and wait, looking pretty hype
(8:14:33 PM) Kyro: The Swoobat pauses in the center of the room before darting after one of the bugs. after several seconds of aerial acrobatics, the Swoobat starts back towards you, Yanma in tow
(8:16:50 PM) Kyro: Upon reaching you, it flits around you in short, eerily fast bursts as it analyzes you.
(8:18:36 PM) Managrimm: I admire its movements and give it a second before speaking
(8:19:38 PM) Kyro: It hovers in front of you and cocks its head as you speak
(8:19:53 PM) Kyro: The dood with the bat's attention has probably been stolen by now
(8:24:27 PM) Managrimm: "Hey, buddy," I say, still grinning. "So I hear you're a pretty tough guy, huh?"
(8:26:26 PM) Kyro: It blinks it's eyes before shaking its head.
(8:27:26 PM) Managrimm: I laugh a bit, looking amused. "Well, I heard you're spirited, anyway."
(8:29:09 PM) Kyro: Without moving it surveys the area around it before settling onto the grass and nodding
(8:29:55 PM) Managrimm: I kneel down, closer to eye level. "Me and my friend are looking for a spirited Yanma. Are you onboard?"

(8:32:21 PM) Managrimm: I wait for a moment.
(8:33:09 PM) Kyro: It waits a moment
(8:35:51 PM) Managrimm: "Basically," I try again, "The question is whether or not you wanna train and go on crazy, fun adventures across the country."

(8:38:17 PM) Managrimm: I'd grin. "Awesome," I say. "You won't regret it."

(8:48:13 PM) Kyro: Cory presumably follows the lady towards the cluster of Phanpy which she begins scanning. After a moment she says quietly "There's your Phanpy" pointing her thumb behind her towards a Phanpy currently being played with a boy who seems a few years younger
than you. Pointing a bit over she says "That's the one with Double-Edge, anything else?"
(8:48:56 PM) Managrimm: "No, that's it," I say, and I walk over to the boy and the Phanpy
(8:51:01 PM) Kyro: Are you looking at him?
(8:51:13 PM) Managrimm: Yeah
(8:58:13 PM) Kyro: He's got baggy jeans, a black tee and loud white basketball shoes. He's got blond hair in a butch cut. "Sup?" he asks, squinting through the sun.
(8:59:22 PM) Managrimm: "Hey," I say, smiling casually. "Any chance I could get a turn with that one?"
(9:00:23 PM) Kyro: "You had that lady over here, right? He have a special move or somethin'?"
(9:02:48 PM) Managrimm: "Yeah, him and two others. He has a weak, quick Ice-type move, the other one over there has Charm and Double-Edge if you're into early nukes, and that one back there has Slam."
(9:03:23 PM) Managrimm: I shrug. "I like utility."
(9:10:01 PM) Kyro: "Yeah? Maybe you should throw that license away and get a job in sales," he tells you.
(9:11:28 PM) Managrimm: I chortle a bit. "Thanks, I think," I say, tilting my head. "So are you two particularly attached? If not I want to go check out Mr. Nuke and annoying-to-get-debuff before someone else grabs him."

(9:12:21 PM) Managrimm: and probably glancing around to be sure no one else is heading for it
(9:14:12 PM) Kyro: "Ice Shard's pretty good but I'm here for an Electrike anyway," he tells you before heading off.
(9:14:34 PM) Managrimm: "Cool," I say, looking down at the Phanpy

(9:15:35 PM) Kyro: It looks between you and him, confused for a moment
(9:15:41 PM) Kyro: Before settling his attention on you
(9:16:01 PM) Kyro: A couple people wander here and start examining the other Phamps
(9:16:25 PM) Managrimm: "Hey, little guy," I say, kneeling down.

(9:23:44 PM) Managrimm: D'aww. I smile a charmed, genuine smile. "Me and my friend are teaming up and going adventuring," I say, examining the Phanpy. "Do you want to come with us and be my partner?"
(9:25:10 PM) Kyro: It bites its lip nervously and looks around for a moment before nodding vigorously
(9:25:52 PM) Managrimm: "Great," I say, grinning. "Don't be nervous. I won't make you do anything you don't want to," I assure it.

(9:28:58 PM) Kyro: excitedly
(9:29:08 PM) Managrimm: I smile and pet its head
(9:31:45 PM) Kyro: It accepts the pet, trunk swaying
(9:33:16 PM) Managrimm: I stand up and look for a non-busy aide, slipping a minimized Poke Ball from my pocket.

(9:35:40 PM) Kyro: She probably hasn't found anything to do in the 30 seconds since you last spoke to her
(9:36:01 PM) Managrimm: "Come on, little guy," I say, giving a quick head tilt in a follow-me kind of gesture

(9:36:25 PM) Managrimm: I approach the aiiide
(9:37:18 PM) Kyro: She confirms that you're ready to check out
(9:37:37 PM) Managrimm: I glance down at my happy little friend and confirm that I am, smiling
(9:37:48 PM) Managrimm: Looking fairly positive
(9:37:51 PM) Kyro: She scans it with her dex and snorts.
(9:37:56 PM) Kyro: "Homewrecker."
(9:41:35 PM) Managrimm: I roll my eyes. "He didn't even want a Phanpy."
(9:43:55 PM) Managrimm: But, like, smiling and just being amused
(9:44:07 PM) Kyro: She rolls her eyes right back at you. "Of course. License?”
(9:44:14 PM) Managrimm: I hand it over
(9:45:13 PM) Managrimm: And my license is all well and good and I successfully Poke Ball the Phanp-beast? It's prolly okay with that?
(9:46:14 PM) Kyro: It's ears lift up in surprise and it looks around as the white light engulfs it
(9:46:29 PM) Managrimm: And Richard is prolly concluding Poke Balling his Yanma around this time?
(9:46:44 PM) Kyro: Yep
(9:46:54 PM) Managrimm: And we meet inbetween the rooms
(9:47:14 PM) Managrimm: And have some dialog that doesn't affect your modding as we head back into the promo zone

(10:12:48 PM) Kyro: Yep, seems like the first training battle is underway
(10:37:43 PM) Kyro: The Teddiursa flashes across the arena like lightning, the Cacnea hurled backwards in surprise. As the Teddiursa lands it flinches slightly, the small saplings growing on him clearly taking their toll. "Poison Sting again" Shouts the younger trainer. The dazed Pokemon snaps to and fires a salvo of purple needles. The Teddiursa raises it's arms in defense, shrinking from the critical barrage. The instructor seems pleased. The moment the barrage stops, the Teddiursa charges forward and pounces atop the Cacnea, unleashes it's own critical barrage.
(10:49:51 PM) Kyro: "Absorb," yells the trainer. The Cacnea begins to glow as faint wisps of energy pour into him from the Teddiursa who continues his barrage. After several moment of this, both Pokemon still. After several moments of perfect silence, the Teddiursa falls off the Cacnea limply. The Cacnea rouses and slowly pushes himself up before flexing weakly. The instructor recalls her Pokemon and the other trained quickly does the same. With a smile the instructor says "Excellent job, you two are very in sync for a new team, I expect good things from you." Beaming, the younger trained thanks her and steps down.
(10:50:05 PM) Kyro: "Who's next?" she asks
(10:59:47 PM) Kyro: [Several minutes of explaining combat details]
(11:01:00 PM) Managrimm: "Me!" Richard says quickly, stepping forward and brandishing a Poke Ball.
(11:04:32 PM) Kyro: "Well, someone's in a hurry. C'mon up. Any questions before we start?"
(11:07:35 PM) Managrimm: He grins. "Nope. Just gimme a second to prep my pal," he says confidently as he steps up, getting ready to release his Pokemon onto the field.
(11:07:57 PM) Managrimm: Cory rolls his eyes and steps towards the back of the crowd to release his Phanpy.
(12:33:49 AM) Kyro: Phanpy plops onto the floor and looks about, slightly bewildered.
(12:34:52 AM) Managrimm: Cory kneels down next to it. "Hey there, little guy."
(12:37:52 AM) Kyro: Yanma lands on the stadium floor
(12:38:05 AM) Kyro: Phanpy looks at you and trumpets!
(12:38:17 AM) Managrimm: Happily?
(12:38:22 AM) Kyro: What else?
(12:38:42 AM) Kyro: The instructor lady clears her throat
(12:47:11 AM) Kyro: The Yanma nods it's head
(12:47:36 AM) Kyro: "If anyone else has a Phanpy they'd like to bring out, before the match would be the time" She'd say

(12:47:53 AM) Managrimm: Rich included, glancing over at Cory, who offers a sheepish shrug.
(12:52:51 AM) Kyro: She gives you a moment to talk to your Pokemon while she picks a pokeball
(12:53:01 AM) Kyro: People are probably laughing and look at Phanpy and you
(12:53:11 AM) Kyro: She's excited and says "Phanp!"
(12:55:38 AM) Managrimm: I'd whisper "Shhh," and stroke its head, nodding over at the battle that's about to start.
(12:56:22 AM) Kyro: Do Richy and his Yanma seem to have things sorted out?
(12:58:01 AM) Managrimm: "All right, we're all set," Rich would have said while Core was messing with his elephant.
(1:01:37 AM) Kyro: Shuffling through a couple pokeballs, she decides on one and tosses it into the arena. A brilliant light emerges, revealing a hideous mound of cotton candy as it fades
(1:01:50 AM) Kyro: "Swirlix" it decrees
(1:05:24 AM) Kyro: "Begin" she says.
(1:07:20 AM) Managrimm: "Tackle!" Richard orders.
(1:11:53 AM) Kyro: The Yanma swiftly accelerates towards the puffball who glows pink and cheerily yips at the inbound Pokemon
(1:14:19 AM) Kyro: The collision is rather underwhelming.
(1:16:16 AM) Kyro: With no audible sound, the Yanma simply carries the Swirlix several feet with it's thick horned skull.
(1:16:38 AM) Kyro: The mental image of a truck driving into a feather comes to mind
(1:18:28 AM) Kyro: Nonetheless, the Swirlix seems quite phased
(1:18:48 AM) Kyro: Shrugging off some pain, it resumes it's excited chirping and pink glowing
(1:21:46 AM) Managrimm: "Grab it from behind and Tackle it into the ground!"
(1:29:08 AM) Kyro: Within seconds, the rapidly accelerating Yanma successfully crashes the Swirlix into the ground
(1:31:36 AM) Kyro: Swirlix bounces back up and immediately starts to happily bark
(1:31:44 AM) Kyro: Pink glowing happens
(1:32:07 AM) Managrimm: "Up and again!" Rich says, clearly really into this and enjoying himself
(1:33:27 AM) Kyro: Clearly enjoying beating up this poor, innocent creature?

(1:33:46 AM) Managrimm: It's planning something. Something evil.
(1:34:03 AM) Managrimm: Is probably not what Rich is thinking.
(1:34:19 AM) Kyro: As the Swirlix collides into the floor for the third time, it is no longer barking cheerily, nor is it glowing pink but a more sinister color.
(1:41:25 AM) Kyro: As its face is driven into the floor for a fourth time your Yanma is suddenly enveloped in the same energy as the Swirlix
(1:41:31 AM) Kyro: And then
(1:41:52 AM) Kyro: It lets go and its wings sputter for a moment, but it manages to maintain air control
(1:42:05 AM) Kyro: It seems to be in terrible shape

(2:40:55 AM) Kyro: "Follow it up with a Thunder Fang" he says, maintaining his composure
(2:44:11 AM) Kyro: The Electrike charged in, teeth sparking. The Smeargle held it's arm out and accepted the vicious chomp to its forearm and instead focused on painting a portrait in the air only it could see.

(1:22:26 PM) Kyro: Looking determined
(1:23:05 PM) Kyro: Electrike gnashed its teeth as it prepped another Electric Fang, except this time aside from an errant spark, nothing happened. The Electrike looked down towards it's muzzle, confused. Not like the status ailment, just regular being confused.
(1:25:56 PM) Kyro: The Smeargle on the other hand is busy trying to keep his footing as his body seizes
(1:28:44 PM) Kyro: "Tackle!" Ordered the trainer, concern overtaking his expression for a moment
(1:32:50 PM) Kyro: The Electrike bounded towards the twitching Pokemon and threw him aside with his massive cranium. Recovering with a backwards roll, the Smeargle immediately began another work of art
(1:49:42 PM) Kyro: "Tack..." the trainer began before pausing... "No more moves, just fight." Regaining his look of confidence, he crosses his arms. The Electrike barks back in confirmation and charges in.
(2:01:34 PM) Kyro: The Smeargle reciprocates, sidestepping the charge and driving a jab into the Electrike's abdomen.
(2:04:57 PM) Kyro: The two continue to brawl for a solid four minutes. Despite the Smeargle's clear advantage in experience, his combination of weaker attributes and paralyzation are giving the Electrike the edge.
(2:06:36 PM) Kyro: The Smeargle manages to kick the Electrike off itself and roll onto its feet, clearly near the edge
(2:10:56 PM) Kyro: The Electrike, panting in exhaustion, doesn't hesitate and immediately starts back towards the Smeargle. The Smeargle jumps towards the inbound Electrike leading with a white glowing foot.
(2:15:48 PM) Kyro: "Dodge!" yelled the trainer, too little too late. With a sweeping motion of his leg, the Electrike is sent hurling through the air, crashing down unmoving several yards over.
(2:16:37 PM) Kyro: Smeargle also successfully sent himself flying in the other direction, though he manages to stand up from his own crash landing.
(2:17:19 PM) Managrimm: I glance down at Phanps for just a second
(2:23:38 PM) Kyro: It's eyes are probably open in surprise
(2:23:48 PM) Kyro: On account of the super mega attack that took place
(2:23:56 PM) Managrimm: I look back up
(2:24:03 PM) Kyro: Time resumes
(2:25:13 PM) Kyro: The trainer withdraws his Pokemon and says to the Smeargle "You know, you fight dirty."
(2:29:48 PM) Kyro: The Smeargle shrugs at him and holds his hand out to lady. She tosses him his pokeball. "Sounds like you learned a valuable lesson than." she replies with a grin.
(2:29:59 PM) Kyro: The Smearlge exits the room through a back door.
(2:30:13 PM) Managrimm: I start doing something with my Pokedex for a second
(2:30:24 PM) Managrimm: And kneel down, asking Phanps if she wants to try.
